2021-2022 Baronial Champions

Champions will be chosen annually at King’s Assessment. Entries for this year are due by July 3, 2021 by midnight EST.

Martial Champions

Responsibilities:

  • To represent Black Diamond in baronial champion competitions at events such as Pennsic and War of the Wings and actively compete in other tournaments and challenges throughout Atlantia and the Knowne World.
  • To grow and learn personally while encouraging others in Black Diamond that are interested in the field for which you are champion.
  • To stand with the Baron and Baroness and represent Black Diamond during courts and processions.

If you are interested in becoming the Black Diamond Champion for armored combat, rapier, or archery, please email Baron Alonzo a letter or video link (example: YouTube link) explaining why you are interested in becoming champion and what you wish to accomplish as champion. You can send it to him at baron@black-diamond.atlantia.sca.org. Entries are due July 3, 2021 by midnight EST.

Scribal, A&S, and Bardic Champions

Responsibilities:

  • To represent Black Diamond in baronial champion competitions at events such as Kingdom Arts and Sciences and actively compete in other tournaments and challenges throughout Atlantia and the Knowne World.
  • To grow and learn personally while encouraging others in Black Diamond that show interest in the field for which you are champion.
  • To stand with the Baron and Baroness and represent Black Diamond during courts and processions.

If you are interested in becoming the Black Diamond Champion for Scribal or A&S, please email Baroness Alys at baroness@black-diamond.atlantia.sca.org a letter explaining why you are interested in becoming champion and what you wish to accomplish as champion, a clear picture of your piece, and any documentation that you would like to include. Entries are due July 3, 2021 by midnight EST.

Scribal Champion:

Challenge: Create a scroll blank using the gold and black colors of Black Diamond. It can be any design you choose but must have baronial colors. Documentation is encouraged but not required.

A&S Champion:

Challenge: Create a piece of artwork or largess using the colors of Black Diamond. It can be any design you choose but must have baronial colors. Documentation is encouraged but not required.

Bardic Champion:

Challenge: Take a video of you performing your favorite piece. If you have documentation, it is encouraged but not required. Please email a letter to Baroness Alys at baroness@black-diamond.atlantia.sca.org explaining why you are interested in becoming Bardic Champion and what you would like to accomplish as champion, a link to the recording of your performance (we would recommend uploading it to YouTube), and any documentation you may have. Entries are due July 3, 2021 by midnight EST.
